Frequently Asked Questions
Answers about roof types, mount selection, Starlink accessories and safe installation planning.
Which SataMount system matches my roof?
SataMount RCT uses RoofClamp RCT attachments for compatible standing seam metal roof profiles. SataMount MRM uses mechanically fastened brackets on suitable screw-down, exposed-fastener roof systems. Match the system to the panel and substrate, not simply the roof's appearance.
Does the standing seam mount require drilling into roof panels?
No. For compatible standing seams, the RCT clamp-on attachment secures to the standing seam without drilling the roof panels. Verify the seam profile and follow the clamp installation instructions.
What do I need for a Starlink Gen 3 dish?
Starlink Gen 3 dishes supplied with a kickstand need a compatible additional mounting accessory for rooftop use, such as the appropriate pivot/mast adapter configuration. Verify accessory compatibility against the exact dish model and the current Starlink documentation.
Can SataMount support other equipment?
The channel-based system can provide attachment options for compatible conduit supports, junction boxes or other rooftop hardware, subject to system load ratings and a project-specific attachment design.
Can it be installed anywhere on a snowy metal roof?
No. Sliding snow and ice can damage mounted equipment. Follow the manufacturer's warning to position the assembly within 3 feet of the roof peak or provide appropriate snow retention upslope. Seek professional guidance for site-specific snow conditions.
Will it affect my metal roof warranty?
Warranty terms differ by panel manufacturer and roofing system. Confirm with your roof manufacturer before installation, particularly for clamp compatibility or any roof penetrations.
